Tennis Elbow

Tennis Elbow is one of the most common conditions seen in orthopedic clinics. As the name suggests, it refers to elbow joint pain typically associated with playing tennis—specifically, damage to the elbow tendons. Interestingly, most patients are not tennis players; the condition was first identified in tennis athletes, which is how it got its name. Similar strain can occur when using tools like wrenches or lifting heavy objects with a straight arm and improper wrist or elbow support.

What Causes Tennis Elbow?

According to recent studies, tennis elbow is caused by degeneration and micro-injury of the tendons attached to the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. This results from repetitive strain, overuse, or trauma.

Treatment Options for Tennis Elbow

  • Rest and avoidance of strenuous elbow activity
  • Physical therapy
  • Use of supportive gear or braces
  • Surgery (only in severe or chronic cases)

Afterward, treat the inner fold of the elbow for another 8 minutes.

For best results, apply treatment twice daily, around 30 minutes per session.

One treatment course lasts 7 days, followed by a 2-day break. A total of three treatment sessions is recommended.

Expect noticeable pain relief within a few days of consistent use.
