Whiplash

Whiplash injuries are a type of sports injury often referred to as acceleration-deceleration or hyperextension-hyperflexion injuries. A typical whiplash injury occurs when a sudden, violent impact in a car accident causes the driver’s head to rapidly extend backward.

Understanding Whiplash Injuries: Causes and Affected Tissues

Whiplash happens when the cervical spine is suddenly bent or extended. It commonly occurs when an athlete is struck from behind or experiences a rapid back-and-forth motion of the head during contact sports (such as rugby or martial arts). The soft tissues of the cervical spine, spinal nerves, intervertebral discs, posterior longitudinal ligaments, interspinous ligaments, and facet joints may all be damaged.

Treatment Protocol

Place the device under the earlobe for 8 minutes.

After the first treatment, set the device for an additional 8 minutes to treat the area under the earlobe on the other side of the neck.

Next, place the device along the cervical spine and treat for another 8 minutes. Keep the device in place without movement.

We recommend treating twice a day, for approximately 30 minutes each time. A 5-day treatment course is suggested, with a 2-day break between sessions. We recommend using 4 treatment courses for optimal results.

  • Fixed placement along the cervical spine
